Geraldine and the Killer Monkeys

I am currently editing a third or fourth draft of GERALDINE AND THE KILLER MONKEYS, a 72,000-word novel I would describe as a comedic, fair-play mystery. Imagine Miranda Hart playing the lead in My Life Is Murder. An Agatha Christie novel with a touch of Abbott and Costello.

There are a few salient details to clarify right at the beginning:

  1. Geraldine only stabbed her boss once. Accidentally. Oops!

  2. Someone else stabbed Penelope the other fourteen times.

  3. It is possible the killer is an orangutan. Penelope’s dying declaration was, “Crunch the… little monkey.” Lots of people aren’t completely clear on the monkey/ape distinction and there’s literary precedent for homicidal orangutans.

Unfortunately, when the police arrive Gerald is drunk and covered in her bosses blood (and glitter). So now Gerald will need to outsmart ‘Detective Delicious’ and find the real killer to prove her innocence!
